1758 "Universal" 12w Slimline Combo Amplifier with Tremolo
Made in Melbourne, Australia. First appears in the 1965 Rose Morris Catalogue.
Unusually, these amps dont have the word "Goldentone" marked on them anywhere! However, they do feature the golden Rose Morris conductor badge on the front grille. The 2 x 6GW8 valves are diffrent to the modern standards we now know. They are in fact, a triode and pentode in one. The triode being preamp (and/or tremolo) and the pentode being the power amp stage.

Later versions of this amp, manufactured from around 1967, had the 1758 model number and essentially the same circuit, but were not labeled as the "Universal". They were a part of the new "Soundmaster" series (all models with Reverb were in the "Reverbmaster series). These later versions are identifiable from there black vynex covering with gold trimmed side panels. They also featured Black chicken head knobs.,
